Saw this on Ford Authority. 2 Door Badlands with what appears to be some testing gear and additional fueling apparatus.
Most likely it’s for CNG as natural gas is usually indicated by safety yellow. CNG tends to offer better equivalent MPG, but the infrastructure isn’t widely available and most people assume that what is available is aimed exclusively towards commercial vehicles. The advantage to CNG vs full electric is that most CNG maintain ability to run off of gasoline so you can swap back and forth based on what fuel source is convenient. CNG also utilizes the gas engine so you don’t have dual power trains like a plug in hybrid simplifying the vehicle mechanics.
