Proper pre-heating and annealing is definitely going to be critical to working with the aluminum panels.

Related to current control for TIG - ever heard of the TIG Button? If I ever get back in to TIG welding I might try one of these (or similar) out:

Have seen them and I do have an Everlast (225LX IIRC), but I suspect I'll have enough to do with both hands already. :) I did get an upgraded foot pedal a while back.
