Claimed to replace the plastic skid plate, like the one found on the base model. This is what free returns are made for. Ill be the guinea pig, I guess lol

All joking aside, it could be a worthwhile upgrade to a plastic plate.
I like that they suggest sending a photo to help assure fitment. That shows some level of care.

If you are going off road its certainly a decent option. If I was only driving on pavement I wouldnt bother at all. What thickness is fords steel skid plate vs this one at 1/8th?

It looks like it uses the back (slotted) and middle (tow hook) bolt locations and not the front two, probably to allow use with aftermarket bumpers. Probably OK.

that was the big selling point for me, they take returns. There is only two options with this purchase, it works, or it doesn't lol

It's missing the 2 bolts (red) that tie it to the front bumper. And I dented the brackets behind the green circled bolts before punching a hole in the factory plastic skid. I wouldn't call this an improvement, most likely going to damage the intercooler if you hit something to hard.

We will see if any fabrication is needed or if it is a bust. I should have it in hand on Friday, 9 SEP and installed on the 10th at the earliest. I'll keep y'all in the loop.

I damaged my intercooler with the ford steel bash plate. I got a little too carried away in the whoops. So it may be comparable.

Mine doesn’t leak. I hope it holds up long enough for the mishimoto high mount intercooler to be done. Then I won’t have to worry about it anymore. Didn’t feel like that hard of a hit in the sand dunes.
