Dealers - Just offer the "initial" batches with an ugly feature with no option to change it, then we'll get the first year production.

Dealer - well, make it something simple to paint off the car. Do you have any really ugly color that you can pretend can't possibly be painted any other color, and something easily removed to paint for basically free at the dealer?

Midyear Black painted modular.

2022 for white modular and color matched.

Service part will be available but will be priced higher than factory option due to freight and handling

Translation everyone with FE order it with the black modular to force them to have it in 2021

Ford was the one who chose them and they are ultimately responsible for the finished product. The sad part is Ford is probably going to beat them up and pocket the liquidated damages.

There will be fines for sure as a supplier contract has deadlines quota's.

This blowup can be salvaged if MIC supplier makes the top black. It shouldn't be a big deal to add more pigment

What is Fords problem. This may be the end of my reservation. An unpainted textured plastic roof is unacceptable on a $60,000 rig.

I *might* be okay with it if instead of forcing that shitty plastic roof they just gave us soft tops and shipped the modular roofs when they became available.

Outer Banks comes standard with a soft top. I imagine if I order the modular top, they'll still include the soft top instead of a credit? If so, perhaps it will possible to get the modular as a DIO?
