I thought the guy on here who works for the company doing the MIC and soft top said the painted one was being done in house? The new CEO isn’t going to like it either way.

If Ford is the painted metal hardtop manufacturer, heads will roll.

can someone point me to a video showing the different hard tops being removed/installed. Have been searching YouTube, can’t find anything yet.

i honestly didn’t understand there was an actual difference in the hard tops besides paint till I saw this thread. Trying to research now...

Damn finally a blow to me personally. I'll wait for the shadow black modular that was advertised since it was literally on my top 3 wants (2.7+squatch+painted top = Wildtrak). Although being in Canada where nothing makes sense, who knows what will happen...

By the time it roles into canada we could have full access to the painted roof. I hope!

I see two positives to this:

1) Everyone ditching the black hard-top will just put me closer to the front of that line when it is finally produced.

2) When my bronco is in a car show (distant future) I can honestly claim it is one of the few original black hard tops. ?

I'm just hoping I can still get it within the MY21. I am going with a Cyber Orange color, and black is the only viable option IMO.

This may be dumb question. But I thought there was a Shadow black top? Perhaps satin finish...is that the same MIC black top that’s late availability? I’d rather have shadow black than a gloss black...

Only on the Wildtrak. The WT has black grille and mirrors. Flares are still grey

I assume Bestop is the manufacturer of the 4-door soft top and hopefully if not all ready but soon FORD will loan them a 2-door Bronco so they can get started designing and testing a 2-door top.

Ok,how is this going to work? We have a day2 reversation.
When the dealer calls us to make out our order and we want a Black modular top on the 2dr. ( late availability) Do we still make a deposit and send in our order? Then when the tops are available,they build and deliver the bronco? And at the price we agreed upon ? And we keep our place in line amongst the other orders?
