I used to argue on this forum in favor of load range E for sidewall and puncture resistance
All the load range C supporters got in my head now I'm looking for C s

How you liking the E Toyos? That tire and size was my first choice
What pressure you running?

I love the E tires. I'm currently around 31 lbs PSI but it does vary 1-2 PSI as we are going from freezing to 80 degrees in back to back days. This gives me around 1800lbs weight rating for each tire, which is plenty for my topless 2 door. I'm about to take a trip to Idaho with the top on, 3 people, and all our backcountry gear for a week. I'll inflate to 36lbs for the trip.

@Razorbak86 and @Ragtop1962 have both ridden and driven in it and can chime in if they felt it was rough or harsh riding. Won't hurt my feelings.

Thanks, I ran 32 on my lj with 235 80 16s and it rode fine , Well like a jeep
I've become accused to the nice ride of my bronco and would hate to ruin it

In all fairness, I never drove my Bronco with the stock tires. I had the dealership put the Toyos on before I even test drove it. I also swapped out the Hitachi coilovers for the Badland coilovers. Then I removed the top, one of the rear seats, crash bar, bumper end caps and almost always am solo, so it's light and just dang fun to drive. I'm somewhat biased on my opinion, but I do think most complaints from E tires come from over inflation.

Agreed. They read that max pressure on sidewall and can't help themselves. Tire stores can be guilty of that too.

Tire stores are the worst. Most of the guys doing the work are low paid and don't really know that much about tires. I've learned if I want my tires indexed when mounted, I have to tell them what the dots are for on the tires and then it's still a crapshoot as to whether they mount them correctly. I just assume a random PSI on new tires and adjust as soon as I get home.

Well, I don't really consider 255s pizza cutters, as that was really 235/85/16s, but I run 255s on my Tacoma and the Bronco. Next tire may be 255/85/17 M/Ts.

Does 255 85 R17 even exist ?

Damn is that the only tire that comes in that size ?

BFG makes a 34 x 10 R17 in the KO2.

I'll be upgrading to 255 80 R17 at some point. That will be lots for me

As far as I know that's the only one that size. It's not a bad tire, but not one on most peoples radar.

Specs say 33.2” diameter for the 255/85. That’s 0.10” larger than a 255/80. Correct? I only ask because those Mickey Thompson’s are great but they’re $50-75 more per tire than other 255/80s.
Specs are wrong on the 4WP website, I know, shocking.
M/T specs them at 34.6 inches. My guess is they are a true 34 inch tire when mounted.

When it comes to 255/80s, you have to be comfortable in your tire choice. Compared to all the various 12.50 or wider tires on so many 4WDs, your tires are going to look less impressive. I've used this size for a long time and have come to appreciate on and off road performance of a slightly narrow and tall tire. They just look underwhelming next to someone with 35X12.50s. If you have tire envy, 255s are not for you.

265/75x17 would be ideal to me but not available other than the 10x34's rare and pricy already mentioned. So 255 80's are next

You got that backwards.
Negative offset is what you see on most modern cars and trucks.
The lug nuts are almost flush with the outer edge of the rim.

Neutral to positive offset is what you see on older lder vehicles and muscle cars.
The deep dish look.

Negative offset minimizes bump steer and straight line tracking.
Positive offset will give more responsive handling in corners.

You will be happier with factory offset on narrow tires, if winter driving is more important than swamps, high speed dirt or rock crawling.
You have it backwards. Negative pushes the Tire out wider (poking it of the wheel well farther, positive is what modern cars have pulling the wheel farther into the whee well. Stock bronco rims are +55 except SAS which is +35 and Raptor is 0 or negative offset!
