I have read the post you are referring to and that’s not what was said. Just stop.

I ran the entire Rubicon with a guy who was in a stock Army surplus M151A2 military jeep, his only change was to do little sluice instead of big sluice, he had no problems but was careful in picking his line, was fun to watch! I drove plenty of them in the Army and it is eye opening to see what they can do.Check out some off-roading videos in Australia and Africa. A lot of those guys are off-roading with narrower tires. Also, checkout "Willys in Moab" too, those guys are doing crazy things with stock Willy tires in almost stock 1940-50's Willys. It will open your mind about tire widths.
The whole reason people want more offset is to get their tires away from their suspension components and fender wells.
I think a 2" lift on the BD with 35x10.50r17 tires and stock wheels will be awesome. That's what I'll be trying out if I go the BD route.
It is obvious you have an issue, it was Ford that stated that there would be an additional deposit at order, the $100 was for your reservation in line, not placing the order. I have special ordered several vehicles and always had to place a refundable deposit at time of order, and in every case it was way more than $100. My Dealer has ensured me the $500 will be refundable from them, if yours hasn't then I suggest you might have a less than honest Dealer, but that is no reason to bash Granger, that is just petty.I have nothing against them. I just don't appreciate liars. Ford made it clear that we res. Holders would not be converting our own orders. They would have been better off if we did! Granger is demanding the money, not ford! Now it is completely reasonable for a dealer to ask for a 500.00 deposit from complete strangers. But again the dealer is not ford!
Also, I realize this is a thread that’s been dormant since 2020, so…This thread got a little testy re: Granger. But if I can refocus and get anyone’s attention, I’d love to see a set of 255/80r17 on a BB or BD. Let me see those 33” pizza cutters!
You'll have to search for pizza cutters. Not many like the look and opt for "stance" that comes with the wider tire. There are a few like me that prefer to keep the rubber tucked in tight. It exudes the traditional EB look. A 2-dr BD on pizza cutters ... <chef's kiss>This thread got a little testy re: Granger. I agree. The 285/70r17 looks good too. And there are more options. But I like the taller/narrower stance. I’ve looked here and elsewhere, and reached the ends of the Internet looking for a photo. You'll have to search for pizza cutters. So, those in the photo are 255/80r17?Well, I don't really consider 255s pizza cutters, as that was really 235/85/16s, but I run 255s on my Tacoma and the Bronco. Next tire may be 255/85/17 M/Ts.
Right?...Back in my day' 255 (10") wide tires sere considered flotation tires...Well, I don't really consider 255s pizza cutters, as that was really 235/85/16s, but I run 255s on my Tacoma and the Bronco. Next tire may be 255/85/17 M/Ts.
Yes, Toyo ATIIIs.So, those in the photo are 255/80r17?
Yeah. The standard tire has gotten big in the last 20 yrs as compared to all vehicle before then. There was a time when a 225-235 tire was a standard width tire on a full size vehicle and 33s were tall. Even my 2012 Tacoma came factory with 245s. Now 265s are narrow and 33s are just normal height.Right?...Back in my day' 255 (10") wide tires sere considered flotation tires...
I used to argue on this forum in favor of load range E for sidewall and puncture resistanceYes, Toyo ATIIIs.
