Another Alaska Road Trip - This time VALDEZ

My road trips are always well received here so time for another! This time I headed from my home on the Kenai Peninsula, up then down 450 miles to Valdez through the jaw droppingly beautiful Thompson Pass. I've gotta say, I've done a LOT of driving around this state and from purely a 'spectacular views' perspective Thompson Pass has slotted into my new favorite. From there I headed a few hours North to check out a trail running along a glacier moraine, then back home. Total miles this round 1,170 and 28 hours of drive time.

If anyone remembers my previous posts you'll know I had been running an RTT. This year I picked up a Valiant Expedition Trailer. The Bronco is definitely NOT built for towing, but I'm pushing 4000 trailer miles this year and loving the extra comfort albeit with some tradeoffs (like 12mpg and an unpleasant ride quality)

I keep forgetting to weigh the trailer but I'd guess around 2500lbs loaded.

I've actually measured the tongue weight. Loaded with a bunch of stuff in the tongue box and 3 of the 4 two gal rotopax full at 310 lbs.
