Well folks, the mule has 4,500 miles on the clock after a quick out and back to York, NE. Had dinner at a local joint that came highly recommended. Down side of the trip is a broken windshield that will cost me my deductible and $300.16 from insurance. Glass will take 7 to 14 days to come in from MI. Truck ran fine and got good MPG and the requisite number of stares and questions. Saw a Carbonized Grey 2 door hard top (recipient of Badlands wheels and 33s), the other was a 2 door Big Bend. Stopped in my namesake town in KS on the way home. Have owned this truck 3 weeks and am averaging 1,500 miles a week. I think I need to pace myself.

Sounds like you’re doing it right!

I go for an aimless cruise at least once a day, no telling where I’ll end up or when I’ll be back. 2.5 months and 7,200 miles already.

I've done more driving since 7/31 when I picked up my Bronco, than I had all of the previous year. It is so fun to drive

Awesome. It's gonna be hard not to rack the miles up on these things.
As far as the windshield, it's a common issue with Jeep. They have a Gorilla glass option from the factory (Ford does not, yet), that seems to help with some lighter impact resistance.
I know on my TJ so far I've been lucky not to have to replace it, but it is a colossal bug magnet at the angle it is. I am going to assume the Bronco to be similar.

Michael, bet you can request a replacement union pride sticker after the windshield is replaced. It will look naked without it

And I arrived at work yesterday with a chip in my windshield, low just above the driver wiper. Safelite fixed it. I asked them how much a full windshield runs and they said about $1500 for the part ( I have full coverage on glass)

My windshield replacement at Ford will cost $1,300.16. I have to eat the first $1,000 and insurance has the rest. Going to look into a windshield rider and/or drop the deductible to a more manageable dollar figure that does not change premium. More to follow.
