I'd just take them off. I did when I painted mine. Although time consuming, it's worth it to do it right the first time.

So many horror stories of stripped bolts
I can tape pretty good for paint prep, got think about this one for awhile…

same. Want to paint mic. Don’t want to take them off.

they do have plastidip in all sorts of colors but it’s too ghetto option

If you use the right bit and not a power tool to take them out, you're not going to strip them.

What he said. Well worth the effort to remove them, sand and prime and paint/clearcoat.
