the first white was just a white this one here is white platinum metallic which is a creamier white thats the difference

awesome. Thanks. Where did you get the paint from? Is that a ford paint? That way I could properly relay to my painter if need be.

well the paint code according to the 2021 ford exterior paint chip book is HX and the white platinum is a tri-coat metallic which is a base coat then a tinted clear then clearcoat which would add extra cost because of tri coat i had the paint mixed here locally at a body/ paint supplier they are the best when it comes to mixing paint here anyway.. i will send you a pic of the can they made me

Old thread that got revived, but I'll comment anyways.

Usually not a fan of white to begin with, until recently.

I have a white Outback that is a metallic.
As I'm sure you know, any metallic or tri-coat white is a far cry from a pure white. The Platinum flake is probably the brightest (best) you can get.

I've come to HATE the dirty whites that are metallics/tri-coats.
Park one next to a White Grand Cherokee and it will make the off-white look dirty.

Nothing quite like spending a fair amount of time washing and waxing your car, making it look good , driving it to the store and by chance you park next to a pure white solid and your car now looks dull, dingy, dirty...

To me, it is really sad that Ford has so botched the hard top production design, that this combination is unobtainium.

I totally agree Ford needs some better people in there to have better paint schemes and color options also agree about the hard top roofs it’s to the point where it’s pathetic. Ford needs to step it up.
