Just noticed this yesterday- Anyone know what purpose it serves? It seems to be a very intentional design feature. Both visors have this tab/ring. Pen holder? Sunglasses holder?

It's to make more rattling. It stops if you put reg, insurance, business card, or any orher type of paper product under it. 
Owner's Manual have any info?

Good ideas so far. I'm glad I'm not the only one that isn't quite sure.
Ford has been putting slots in their dash areas for things like RF cards used for gate or lot entry for office buildings and apartments. Not sure if the bronco has such a place, if not, maybe that is why that is there?
