We highly encourage people to go out in groups of six vehicles or less with the max size being 10. The maps cover class 4’s spread across 80+ towns from the Massachusetts to Canadian border. That’s a lot of space! It’s not uncommon for people to jump on the interstate and drive 2+hrs north or south and then take the class 4’s back.

it’s very different then going to MOAB or a dedicated off road park. It’s not one continues trail system. The 1700 miles of class 4’s can varry from 1/4 mile long to maybe 15 miles long. All spread across nearly all of the eastern side of Green Mountains. These are roads in nearly every town that used connect place’s that don’t exist anymore. With in the 10
Miles of where I live we have 3 ghost towns! The class 4 roads and cellar holes are the only thing left!

Then factor in people stopping all over the state to visit Vermonts amazing breweries, generals stores, restaurants and cheese maker’s. With the camping being so central people have choices to go in every direction of the compass. Our staff is also available to help people plan routes based on the type of terrain the group is capable of and what they want to see/do along the way. From seeing an old gold mine ghost town, swimming holes, fly fishing, or visit the worlds best beer makers. Because of the vast amount of space, types of difficulty and things so see it’s rare to come across other groups on the class 4’s.

Just remember: chemical toilets, no electricity or plumbing, so bring your tent/camper. Food trucks were okay, but you should be prepared to feed yourself. Some vendors.
2023 was very rainy, which suited me fine, but others cut out early on day 3.
Fantastic comradery, and lots of fascinating rigs to check out.

250 still seems like a lot to me. What size are the individual groups each day?
Get there early and meet people. Find out who has rig(s) which match your experience and capability, then check the maps for appropriate routes. It's up to you (plural) to organize a group and an agenda. Meet up and hit the trails!

Edit: Part of the fun of off-roading is the unknown--and that involves risk. Derek & Co. color-code the backroads and trails, but you never know what you'll encounter. There may be a tree down, or a mechanical challenge, or...? You'll find what you're in for when you get there!

Just wanted to say you don’t have to camp if you don’t want to. We always have a number to people each year that get hotels and air b&b’s. We have dedicated parking spots for those doing that so they can still enjoy the vendor area when ever.

Also the town of South Royalton is a mile up the road. Multiple restaurants, gas station and small grocery store.
