Anyone else on here have this? Extended hitch

I’m debating ordering this be using a hitch extension. It seems like it might look funky or get in the way when not towing. But it will help with clearing the big Sasquatch spare tire.

Wouldn't it make more sense to use a long extension on the ball hitch ? That wouldn't affect your offroad departure angle.

THIS! The first time you bust your shin on that thing unloading groceries you'll have wished you got an extension instead. They are pretty inexpensive, Harbor Freight has them for $24

I ordered that one originally not thinking about departure angle. Sold it before installing and went with the bamf hitch.

I bought a hitch extender, it goes into the factory receiver and extended it out 8" then your ball mount goes into it. I almost ordered an extended ball mount that moves the ball back 8" and has a 2" drop, but I didn't want to wait on shipping, I wanted to go fishing. lol. The hitch extender is available at Harbor Freight for less than $30. The extended ball mount is available from E-Trailers for $38 plus freight. I have found that the 2" drop is perfect for my trailers. A 4" drop would be too much.

I went with the Curt hitch after everyone’s suggestions.

can anyone with a Sasquatch give a measurement from the ground to the middle of the receiver? I have a Pintle hitch for an off road trailer, so it’s a little higher than most trailer hitches.

I have the Draw-Tite extended hitch mentioned by OP. Obviously there is a potential issue with departure angle, but... I don't find there to be a big problem with walking/working around the back with the swing gate open. The advantages are a couple -- (1) the extended receiver allows for more tongue weight capacity (the extender halves the weight capacity), (2) there is no extra wiggle or noise caused by the hitch extender, and (3) the required length is always there without having to carry the extender with you.

I can fully see why some people want to go the shorter receiver/extender route, but it is not the only way to go.

my solution was to make my own ball mount. Granted it’s not Sasquatch, but it would probably work on one. Measures 12” center to center.
