Anyone else thinking of ceramic coating their new Bronco?

I've heard a lot of great things about ceramic coating a new vehicle, and I would think the hardened coating would do a lot to protect against the trail pin-striping and other off-road hazards. Anyone else thinking about doing this?

If you want ultimate protection then you do PPF and then ceramic coat. ceramic coat will not protect you from pin striping.

I had my used mustang Ceramic Coated after i bought it. best thing i have ever done!!! i think i will do the paint protection film on the bronco though.

I can't imagine how it wouldn't help. Ceramic coatings are pretty hard, and therefore harder to scratch. Not impossible, but better than clear coat.

I don't think I'd ever do the whole thing, but maybe a two-tone that creeps up from the bottom the more scratches I get until it's up the doors.

Maybe one of the coatings that 'heals' when in the sun would be a good option.

Unless you apply 8 coats, it is not going to help. The purpose of Ceramic coating is to keep the surface clean.

Xpel which is a PPF and is 8mm thick and acts like a 2nd skin. Again .. ultimate protection is PPF and then ceramic coating

Since I do my own detailing, I’m going to do a paint correction right when I get it home to remove any factory defects, then take it straight to get PPF installed. I’ll probably ceramic coat it myself that first weekend as well to preserve it as much as possible.
Ceramic coating also makes washing a breeze! So that’s a plus for me too!

What do these products typically cost? Ballpark? I'm buying the Bronco based on nostalgia. To me it might be something I hand down to kids/grandkids.

1 - a good wash
2 - chemical decontamination
3 - clay
4 - paint correction
5 - PPF
6 - if not PPF then you want to seal the paint asap

I talked to a guy that runs a body shop and he loves the ceramic coatings. He said do it yourself and it will only cost a couple hundred bucks in materials. He also said it cuts down on cratches (doesn't stop them) and turns washing into a rinse job. I'm not sure about the PPF, but I'm interested in that too.
