Anyone going to the Colorado Bronco event? Any locals?

I've all but decided that I'm going to take a little trip up to Colorado to see the new bronco, and hopefully get some fly fishing in on the trip. Anyone else have similar plans? Any locals willing to give me some directions toward public access to some river fishing? I've heard the Arkansas river is great brown trout fishing, and I'd really like to get my feet wet and try to catch a few.

Local Coloradan here. Probably gonna head up to Buena Vista for the event in a couple weeks. Arkansas river will be pretty decent fishing. Check the regs for different areas cause they can vary significantly. You'll find areas of Gold medal waters on there as well.
A little over an hour North you could also fish Gore creek in East Vail and Snake River through Keystone. Gore has tons of brookies, browns and the occasional cutthroat. Snake River has tons of browns.

Do spectators need to register? Doubt my focus would fit into the aho field.

14 hours is a long haul! I thought I was crazy for doing 8.

yeah, but there are some cool spots to see/fish along the way....I have a film (work) starting in Oct. that keeps me busy in LA, Prauqe, Thailand and south of France until about June, so this may be the only time I get to see one in person

I live about 2 hours 45 min from Buena Vista. I’ll be there with my wife Friday into Saturday. Unfortunately I don’t know any good fishing spots. It never appealed to me as an adult. Now big game, I can give some pointers.

I am, along with my wife and 6 year old son. I just want to get kinda close enough to get an idea of size, take some pictures and be socially distant. It's just an excuse to get out of the house and get into the mountains. Making it a day trip on Saturday.

I live in TN but I’ve got my flight and plans set. I’ll be there in CO. Can’t wait to see these Broncos.

The Buena Vista event worked out perfect for me. I will be in Gunnison during that week and plan on riding over to the Bronco event once I get details on when the 2021 will be there.
