Pardon me if it's been posted but I couldn't find it yet.

Has anyone hardwired a dash cam yet in there bronco? If so where did you feed the wires? This is the first car I'm going to do any work on outside brakes so not really sure best routing for wires and everything.

i wish it was that easy for me to understand how to do that LOL
Pop the overhead console out, take a couple of Scotchlok type connectors and splice into the wiring for one of the map lights, put the overhead console back into place.

Depending on your dashcam you can also sometimes find mirror taps that will work. For my last one I used a mirror tap for a cobra radar detector that was a perfect fit. They also usually come with an inline fuse. This is the one I used for a BlackVue 650:

How'd the install go? Did you use the footwell fuse box or the one in the engine bay?

I just ordered one. Should come tomorrow.

Anyone run a wire from the overhead panel to the rear crossbar area?

I am trying to add a rear dash cam to that spot and wanted to follow the speaker wire routing, if possible.

Cobra dash cam has a proprietary wire between front and rear camera.

Back in stock now....
Just so I’m clear, this plugs into the dashcam and then plugs into the mirror housing area attached to the windshield? Is it confirmed that this is possible on the bronco?

I just installed the converter linked above. Could not be easier. Just install it between the mirror wiring and the mirror and you have a USB 5v power out ready for your dashcam. The Amazon unit even included two short USB cables.

I highly recommend it.

The mirror power is switched with the ignition (with a delay I think) so it will not keep a dashcam running with vehicle power while parked with accessory power off.

Thanks!

Will this work with most dashcam brands such as Escort?

What would be needed to connect with accessory power?
