Ok everyone, maybe my cheap idea wasn’t so bad. This was my first mod after getting the Bronco. It cost about $15 for the aluminum angle at Home Depot. I took my time and spent an evening cutting, filing, drilling and painting this simple bracket. I think it’s the best location—out of all harms way, clearly visible but in a cool off-center spot, and does not block any cooling openings or tow points. Also compatible with the brush bar.
This works on the steel modular bumper. I used two of the bumper screws to attach this simple part. I also stuck a rubber pad on the back of the plate, in case it deflects against the grille under highway speeds. There is no backing structure to support the license plate other than the bottom 2 mounting holes.
