With the top off of my '23 Wildtrak the leather/fake leather gets pretty damn hot after sitting in the sun for an hour; enough to burn you if you don't have a shirt or are wearing shrots. I'm using beach towels at the moment for the front seats and a mexican blanket for the rear seat bottom, but want to find some basic comfy cloth seat covers that will fit the bill...

I was thinking some baja-style blanket seat covers would be both comfortable and utilitarian for getting back in the bronco with wet shorts from the pool or beach. I'm not looking to spend $500+ on some plastic-based/wet suit material that gets hot, I like cloth, plus it tends to be cheap and I already have a dozen other mods I'd rather spend my money on--like a winch!

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Is that another term for saddle blanket covers? I love those in old trucks.

The link looks great but you'll have to install the covers yourself and it is NOT a fun job. Hog ring pliers want to hurt you no matter how careful you are.

I’ve got these for my 2-door and they’re pretty good.

That said I took my top off 3 months ago, didn’t have the seat covers installed at the time and used towels for a few days with the intention of reinstalling the seat covers. However before I did that I finally got around to installing the the J-Top sun cover and with that and my tinted windows closed when I park the black MGV stock seats stay cool enough to comfortably sit on even after being parked in the high desert sun for a few hours on 90 degree+ days. So, a shade cover is another thing to consider. My windows are also tinted with the highest rated ceramic tint that does a real nice job of keeping the Bronco cool inside on hot days.

I don't have any recommendations if you don't have a sewing machine other than going to a local upholstery shop and seeing what they'd charge. You'd be amazed at what the mom and pop shops can do for a reasonable price

I am looking for something comfortable, like a towel, which is why I want cloth covers over poly.

A sun shade is in the future but for now I just want something inexpensive and that won't burn me up after hours in the sun. The carhart is a poly material and a bit out of my price range.
