I’ll put tires that measure 33 on the BD. Either 295/70/17 or 285/75/17 depending on clearance and backspace. Won’t be a lot different than the squatch 35s.
I know from experience: both 285/70 and 295/70 are the same width whereas 315/70 are an inch wider.

Here’s the stock 33 that comes with Badlands. It’s on a Jeep, though :D Love this tire.

Maybe this video will help.
I found this Video very helpful to see how the Tires look on the Vehicle, rather than imagining how they would look. The Explanation was to the point.

Is it a big deal? I'm looking at both the Badlands and Wildtrak.

I like a lot of the stuff that comes on the Badlands with the rock rails, better bashplates and steal bumpers. See,s like a stronger set up.

Just will the Badlands still have a Beefy look? or will the Wildtrak look that much better?
Depends on that type of off-roading you envision yourself doing. I too was in the same boat, attempting to choose between the Wildtrak or Badlands. At the moment (this has been known to change a lot), I'm leaning towards Badlands because I will do much more forest-type off-roading than desert, which the Wildtrak is more built for. They're both great models, but seem to serve two different purposes, at the very least by the way they're offerred with standard options. The BL does come with Baja mode though and you can upgrade to make it similar to the WT. Wildtrak can also be modded with rock rails, steel bumper, etc to compare more to the BD. Most of the fun right now is researching for exactly what you want, so just have fun doing that until it's time to pull the trigger. Good luck!

I’m doing 285/75/17, not 285/70/17. All depends on backspace and clearance, but 285/70/17 won’t be anything I consider. I also really don’t care about width. 285 or 295 is plenty wide. I want a true 33, not a rounded up one.

Those 33 MT look great but does anyone know how noisy they are compared to the AT?

Yeah the 33’s are still plenty thicc. Honestly, I like the look of the 33’s better. The 35’s look a touch too beefy to me.
I feel the same way. 33s give enough of an aggressive look. 35s bring nothing to the table for me.

This is my plan. Badlands with 285/75/17s on a set of steelies.

This is the set I have on my wrangler which are a perfectly cromulent set of tires.

Nice. I'm trying to decide which Coopers I want. At first I planned the ST MAXX, but the more I think about it I may go AT3.

I went with the AT3 after much deliberation but can’t remember exactly why... I think it was because they are three peak winter rated? In any event, I daily the Jeep and these seem to be more of a reasonable choice for that

The wheels that are on my Jeep are 8.5” wide... the AT3 are said to be for wheels 7.5-8.5.... and the Ford Steelies are 7.5” wide (badlands stock wheels are 8” wide)... and I’m wondering how different the tires will feel on a rim that’s a full 1” narrower.

I figured he meant looks, as the 295/70s are actually wider and taller than the 285/70s.
