Nice. I'm trying to decide which Coopers I want. At first I planned the ST MAXX, but the more I think about it I may go AT3.
Here are 33’s on my 1986 CJ7 on 15” rims. They are Cooper AT3s - I have become a Cooper tire fan and have had the Discoverers on a couple of jeeps we have owned. They provide a quiet ride and are good in bad weather.

Been wondering if 285/75/r17 will fit nicely with the BL suspension and not need anything. Or a 295/70/r17

Ditto. I guess we may need to wait and look it over with the stock tires to determine.

I noticed that the 285/75's are same width and around an inch taller. The 295/70's are about an inch wider and half inch taller. The inch wider would take up half an inch more clearance on the inside based on the stock wheel offset. I can wear out the stock tires thinking it over and by then someone may provide additional info.

There's a thread here that did a seriously deep dive into tire fitment, even Stig was involved in getting needed measurements.

There is serious consideration that the 285/75 (33.8") will fit on even the Base , as the primary source of interferance is in the tire width if the tire reaches too far inboard....hence the 30mm offset for the Squatch 315's to push the tire back out away from the suspension parts. Note the backspacing below.

33's SEEM to be a walk in the park, considering they are only 1/2" taller than Big Bend tires.

PS, my qoute is not from the deep dive I referenced.... need to save that thread when I find it.

Maybe this thread won't get deleted/lost:

per tiresize.com wheel calculator.
Using what I can gather from the Stig shots of the wheels and assuming the Base wheel is the same Ranger wheel, which has been stated elswhere.

16 x 7 = 55mm offset = 6.17" Backspace (Base)
17&18 x 7.5 = 55mm = 6.42" backspace (BB, BD & OBX)
17 x 8 = 55mm offset = 6.67" backspace (Badlands)
17 x 8.5 = 30mm off = 5.93" backspace (Squatch)

Another endorsement for the Cooper AT3s…..have them on my F250. Reasonably quiet, overall good traction on my very steep gravel driveway/Forest Service roads/mud. Seem to be wearing well.
