I finally received my OBX and immediately upgraded the factory tires to BFG All Terrain T/A KO2 275 70 18 based on the recommendations on this thread. I am very happy with them. There is no rubbing at full turn, the ride is smooth, and they look much better than the factory tires.

I have the same issue. So hard to know what to do.
It's really hard to make a bad choice. My Bronco looks better with the aftermarket wheels and tires to me, but when I am doing freeway miles, the stock rims and tires are awesome for mileage and noise. The noise is only slightly less with the stock tires vs the M/T's I run, but the road handling and mileage are much better with the stock tires.

The KO2's might be a good middle ground for the OBX. I definitely love the feel of the M/T's off-road and the extra inch of height does make a difference (32.1 vs 33.5") between stock and aftermarket. The stock Bridgestone tires perform better off-road than they look, but still they aren't M/T's.

I put 275/65R18 KO2s on my HPR Outer Banks, along with a fresh set of unpainted fenders:

I didn’t go larger in diameter - just width - so I can keep everything calibrated well and not lose any safety features or have incorrect speed readings
The 275/65's look nice! I've been looking for a set of non-sas painted fenders flared. Did you buy those off of someone or from a store. I can't find them anywhere.

No lift kit at all. Not even removing the crash bars. 285/70/17 fits perfectly.

What wheel manufacturer and what size ( width and offset) looks great. I have a OBX on order and will be swapping out the wheels and tires
