Anyone Try limiting straps to keep down travel in check?

I'm going to experiment but I need to know what length to try first.

What shocks? What problem are you trying to fix?

I presume he's trying to limit droop up front.

Not on a Bronco, but my old Land Rover Series III had fabric limiting strap loops front and back. I found they limited axle travel too much for my usage, and also engaged too roughly. Meaning I'd have preferred a material with more stretch to not stop the axle movement so abruptly. It's an interesting approach for Bronco owners wanting to avoid front CV issues though.

Correct. I have a 5 inch lift. I need the clearence but don't care about flex as much for snow wheeling. and cv shafts are getting expensive.

Straps don't work how you think, you will be fighting brackets and mounting. You have to much going on in the limited space and aluminum lower control arms that you can't weld to.

Sounds like you need to try a different combination of spacer and strut. You should have someone cut down those massive spacers and reweld them. An exhaust shop would probably charge you 1-2 hours labor.

I'm actually taking those out and putting Vertex Coil overs in. same height, but I am hoping that the stiffer suspension will limit the droop a bit... or at least not make it as violent.

Toyota guys are using lower control arms skid plates as mounts. I still think it would be cheaper to have someone take the shock apart and put an internal bump stop in.

FYI I would stick to modifying the bracket and buying a normal front coilover. Cheapest, easiest and reliable solution to your issue.

Other than those coilovers, do you have anything else added to the shocks to add length? Top hat spacers or something like that? Are you running drop bracket kit of some sort?
