When I installed a new leather boot, it was measurably thicker than the Ford Factory material. This caused me some trouble getting that prong fully seated. When I was satisfied it was in far enough, I decided to tightly wrap that prong down with electrical tape to hopefully prevent it from coming out of it's hole. I hope your solution will have more clearance for leather boots.
Also, I would be interested in a brown/orangish leather knob and metal top plate like the original rendering:

@EIGHTLUG , can you tell us if this is going to be an entire shifter replacement kit? Or will there be an option for replacing that failure point without buying an entire assembly?

Might have to wait a year after buying those magnum steps... lol. Very excited for those to arrive!

@EIGHTLUG , can you tell us if this is going to be an entire shifter replacement kit? Or will there be an option for replacing that failure point without buying an entire assembly?

The billet Reverse Lockout will be a standalone part. Youā€™ll still need to remove your OEM shift knob to perform the swap. Below is an initial render of the reverse lockout. Itā€™s a different take on the OEM design. You can reach over the knob or rest your palm on the knob and use your index and middle fingers to raise and actuate it, or come underneath with your hand to the side of your shift knob. Either way, itā€™s ergonomically friendly.

Nope, the lockout will also work with your OEM knob. After looking at the assembly more, removal and reinstallation of the OEM knob can be done without damaging your OEM knob. There will also be an adapter that will allow our knob to mount super secure on the OEM shift arm.

There will be several knob designs. I donā€™t foresee any being grossly taller than OEM, just a few millimeters, here and there.
