Thanks figured it out last night. I even got a reply and invoice on a Sunday night. All paid for and waiting............. They are great over there!
There is a center mounting point. The outer sides have grooves that catch on the lip of the tray section. The pressure in the middle of the rail holds it down firmly. How do things attach to this?
There are no clips? I have never seen one of these things. There is a center mounting point. The outer sides have grooves that catch on the lip of the tray section. The pressure in the middle of the rail holds it down firmly.
Here’s a starting point to answer your questions So. Girl. How do things attach to this?
This is a 1913 Picatinny rail system. There's s proprietary mount system that works with it. It's designed for handguns and modular rifle platforms but has been adapted for other uses, such as mounting cameras, lights, and holding phones. There are no clips? I have never seen one of these things.
Since some have already purchased the BAM, will this be interchangeable in case you may want to change out if needed? If so, can you also advise on the price for that scenario? Gracias!I cranked out a 3D printed TAP overnight. I’ll send it out to my buddy Kyle to mock up with hardware and mount on his dash for some pics.
I gotta say, I love this little thing! I’d think, for most people and their daily drive, it’s just right. It will have space for day to day necessities like your mobile device and a dash cam or a toll pass or even a spot for your dipping sauce! We also integrated a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the center of the picatinny rail that carries over from what’s in your dash now. 1/4-20 is the most common thread used on accessory mounts.
I’m working on pricing now. The TAP will go into production, ASAP, and be available to ship around the week of the 15th of November. Obviously, the production part will be 6061 billet aluminum. All of the hardware will be 316 stainless. The Picatinny rail is spec (4.75” in length), so all smooth rail specific or Picatinny mounted accessories will work. Stay tuned for more updates!
Ahh! Yes. That was mentioned in the first post. The BAM and the TAP are fully modular to each other. If you have the BAM on order, you would be able to purchase the three parts to convert it to a TAP. And vice-versa.Since some have already purchased the BAM, will this be interchangeable in case you may want to change out if needed? If so, can you also advise on the price for that scenario? Thanks....and to think I shake my head at some of the comments and questions on here when the previous posts reveal all....senility setting in I guess.Ahh! Yes. That was mentioned in the first post.
