I cranked out a 3D printed TAP overnight. Iā€™ll send it out to my buddy Kyle to mock up with hardware and mount on his dash for some pics.

I gotta say, I love this little thing! Iā€™d think, for most people and their daily drive, itā€™s just right. It will have space for day to day necessities like your mobile device and a dash cam or a toll pass or even a spot for your dipping sauce! We also integrated a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the center of the picatinny rail that carries over from whatā€™s in your dash now. 1/4-20 is the most common thread used on accessory mounts.

Iā€™m working on pricing now. The TAP will go into production, ASAP, and be available to ship around the week of the 15th of November. Obviously, the production part will be 6061 billet aluminum. All of the hardware will be 316 stainless. The Picatinny rail is spec (4.75ā€ in length), so all smooth rail specific or Picatinny mounted accessories will work. Stay tuned for more updates!

You should ensure the bolt to screw it down is a T30 so it works with the supplied Bronco tool kit.

AR | TAP BYODM - Trail Accessory Picatinny Bring Your Own Device Mount

This is where the modularity of the AR | BAM comes into play. I bring you the AR | TAP.

What is it? Well, it a simplified and more abbreviated version of the much larger BAM. It shares the same ruggedness and single mounting point on the dash as the BAM but in a much smaller footprint and visually more discreet package. It also shares the exact same center mount component of the full size rail. So if you already have the BAM inbound, you can simply remove the two longer rails and add the smaller picatinny rail. Just like that, you have yourself the TAP. In reverse, if you were to purchase the TAP, you will be able to purchase the two rails and turn your TAP into a BAM. Gotta love true modularity... Not to toot our own horn, but this is where all of the other rails will be left in the dust.

Ideal situations to use the TAP. Your Monday - Friday commute. You have the rail space for a phone mount and a dash cam. Essentials. Or maybe a toll pass and your phone. Smaller. Less obtrusive. Less in your line of sight. The picatinny rail also has a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the center, which carries from the OEM. This will work with your threaded RAM mounts or any other 1/4-20 threaded accessories.

Like the BAM, the TAP will also be 6061 billet aluminum 5-axis and 3-axis machined. If you're familiar, the same three anodized finishes will be available. Graphite Grey, Tech Bronze, and Tumbled Matte Clear. All of the hardware is 316 stainless raw or black. Pricing and availability will be coming soon! This will also be a BRONCO6G exclusive part at release with similar shenanigans! Stay tuned!

AR's original post said nothing before Nov 15 of this year (2021) so it'll be a few weeks.

EDIT: That must have been on the long one. This is what AR actually said, "Pricing and availability will be coming soon! This will also be a BRONCO6G exclusive part at release with similar shenanigans! Stay tuned!" Sorry!! #ReadingComprehensionNotMyStrongestSuit

Ahh! Yes. That was mentioned in the first post. The BAM and the TAP are fully modular to each other. If you have the BAM on order, you would be able to purchase the three parts to convert it to a TAP. And vice-versa.
Are any of the assembly points 1/4-20? Thinking the two L wings without the bar would make a nice simple splitter. If all the screws in the kit were 1/4-20 it would create some imaginative options.

We're back from SEMA and spent most of yesterday digging ourselves out from under a mountain of PMs and emails. Now that that's done, I'll get to work on the AR | TAP. I'll have pricing and a good idea of availability all together this weekend. Watch this thread for updates. ;)

I've incorporated more 1/4-20 threaded points into the final rail design.

AR | TAP is now live on the website. Post #1 has been updated with pricing, lead time, and the ordering procedure.

For those of you wanting a color other than black, you'll need to wait until after the first of the year. We will also do smaller exclusive runs of custom colors. These will be colors that match the dash of your respective models. Maybe even orange or blue to match your OEM grab handles ;)

We'll reach out via PM to everyone that has already said SEND IT in this thread.

I smashed go on the first run of TAPs this morning (11/6/21) They will begin shipping out just after Christmas.

This is where the modularity designed into the AR | BAM comes into play. We bring you the

AR | TAP.

The picatinny rail also has a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the center, which carries from the OEM. This will work with your threaded RAM mounts or any other 1/4-20 threaded accessories. The center 1/4-20 threaded mount hole is flanked on both sides by slotted mounts locations for throughbolted accessories, offering more mounting flexibility.

For this initial run, only GRAPHITE BLACK will be available. We're doing this for two main reasons. Black is the most ordered color and to streamline production to get these in your hands ASAP! Tech Bronze and Tumbled Clear Matte will be available soon. We will also be producing small runs of custom colors.

The TAP is 6061 billet aluminum 5-axis and 3-axis machined, then anodized and post machined.

This will also be a BRONCO6G exclusive Bronco part and B6G members will always be eligible for the 20% discount.

Pricing:

Retail price for the AR | TAP is $135.00

BRONCO6G members are eligible for a 20% discount, making the forum member price: $108 with free shipping (plus and applicable sales tax).

NOW TO THE FUN PART:

If you would like to pre-order your AR | TAP, here's what you'll need to do!

1. Reply in this thread: SEND IT!

2. We will PM you with the exclusive BRONCO6G coupon code for the ARCHETYPE RACING website.

3. Go to the link, also provided in the PM, for the AR | TAP, and you'll be able to check out with the BRONCO6G 20% discount.
