Picked up Bronco this Tuesday from dealer. Have mounted a dual ARB compressor under the hood of a 2.7L Badlands. Fabricated the mount tonight, took about 4 hours. Used some aluminum that I had on hand. Also used a set of Quick Draw Brand Brackets to attach the compressor to the mount I built. Only had to drill one hole to install mount. The compressor and mount can be quickly removed in about two minutes by removing two nuts, this time doesn't include the air line or electrical. Still need to complete the air line, need to obtain some fittings and air line first and the complete the electrical. Also will be installing a 1 gallon air tank, still need to find a home for it. It's late will followup with more details maybe tomorrow. Will be removing mount to finish some of the rough edges and maybe paint black. Neither the compressor or mount rub against anything in the engine compartment

Here's some pictures.

Update # 4. Completed the installation this last Sunday. Installed the air-line from the compressor to the remote 1 gallon storage tank and rear air line quick disconnect mounted on trailer hitch. Used 1/2 air-brake line and fittings, they are rated at 150 psi working pressure. Also installed two air line quick disconnects under the hood by the compressor, one has the air line going to the air tank and the back quick disconnect connected to it and the other is for for use to connect a air line at the font of the vehicle if needed. Remote mounted the compressor air filters just behind the leading edge of the hood so that the compressor has cooler air intake as opposed to the middle of the engine compartment. If needed the compressor, its mount and remote mounted compressor air filters can be removed in less than five minutes to service the compressor or vehicle components.

Built up a manifold and airlines for deflating and inflating all four tires at the same time. Started to rain so didn't have time to test the manifold and airlines. Will test the manifold and airlines this coming weekend, will time deflate and inflate times, and then post.

Pic's follow

Update # 3. Have painted the compressor mounting bracket black, reinstalled the compressor and completed the electrical. Will be next weekend for the airline installation, airline and fittings should be delivered by next Friday.

Used AUX switch # 6 to control the compressor, stripped the violet and black compressor control wiring and plug from the factory ARB control wiring harness, note the black wire is not used. Pictures follow

Update # 2. Have mounted the 1 gallon air storage tank that will be connected to the compressor for air storage and also mounted the air line quick disconnect on the trailer hitch where it is protected and easy to access. Still need to order airline and fittings to complete installation Plan to installed the electrical tomorrow. Most likely next weekend for the air line installation. Pictures follow for air tank and quick disconnect.

Going to be interested in where you can hide a tank. I haven't really spent much time under a new Bronco while thinking about that. Do you think just a gallon is enough?

Am considering a second tank, only bought one to start with, if I find room for two, will source a second tank and install.

The competition to get a compressor in a 2.7 is more interesting to me than most sports.

Awesome, loving see people coming up with ways to mount things.

Nice job (y)
@4x4TruckLEDs.com Look like it fit under the hood of a 2.7.
Yes just got back from test fitting. The compressor will have to be mounted in this fashion. On the 2.3L it can go the other way but on the 2.7L this is the orientation we came up with.

I’ll just wait until Powertank comes out with their Bronco rollbar mount, no loss of floor space, drilling or wiring and can leave the tank at home when not needed and can also move it from vehicle to vehicle. Used about every hard mounted air compressor available over the years and the Powertank handles 90% of what I’ve needed from filling up tires, running air tools, air mattresses, only downside is risk of it running empty so I always refill when it gets to <30%.

Unsure if you're referring to sports, such as baseball and hockey, or Bronco Sports...

Isn't heat an issue mounting it under the hood? I thought they had some kind of thermal cutoff, seems like a few hours of wheeling would cause them to get too hot for use.

Professional sports. Baseball, basketball, football...

But not hockey. Hockey rules and is the best.

Additional note... I like the Bronco Sport for what it is. I don't understand the shit-talk. Reminds me of my 2010 Escape, but more capable. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you need the tank if you have a compressor and vice versa? I thought you needed only one or the other (n00b off-roader)
