Every review of the 2.3 that i can find is with the 7-speed MT. Does anyone have a link to a review of the 2.3 with the 10-speed AT?

I just got my Black Diamond with 2.3L automatic and have put a little over 100 miles on it with highway and city driving. Plenty of giddy up, I've used it in eco and normal mode and getting 19 mpg so far. I'm not a super aggressive driver, but seems like all the engine I would ever need.

I'm thinking about switching to the 2.3 and adding the mid-package so I can get heated seats and dual automatic climate control. I test drove the 2.3 with the manual and it was plenty of power.

I have had my 2.3L 10 speed-auto for over 6 months and love it. No problems. 18 MPG around town; 21 MPG on country roads; 11 MPG on FSR.
Looks like you got a Sasquatch. I'm just gonna replace the 265's with 285's.

Do you have specific questions?

I have a base with 2.3 and 10spd auto on 33's. I'm at about 900 miles.

I was worried about the 2.3l being underpowered. Every Bronco I got to drive had the 2.7l. I went out on a limb and ordered my Bronco with the 2.3l because I needed my Bronco sooner rather than later. I am completely happy with the performance of the 2.3l and it looks like, at least for now, the 2.3l is the engine of choice, since the 2.7l engines have been eating valves for an undisclosed reason.

the 2.3 is definitely no slouch, it's a good little engine with more than enough torque to make it fun to drive. The transmission though, I wouldn't say that it's bad by any stretch, but I do think it should be 'better' for it being 2022 and all. Specifically, I think it should be a little bit better about letting go of a gear at high RPM's. i.e. If I stomp on it off the line a bit, and run it up to 4.5-5k, it takes an inordinate amount of time to find the next gear, probably a good second or more. Definitely not 'faulty' by any stretch, just feel like it could've gotten a bit more love from the tuners before it went into production.

I’m curious about what you see in fuel economy and whether the 10-speed pairs well with it. It seems like the way to go to me, right now.

@nc-hiker

Best I've gotten so far is about 18 mpg in mixed driving and running premium. I seem to float in the 16.5-18 range. As far as the 10 speed pairing, that's a tougher question......I don't have any issues with it hunting for gears or bogging down, it's smooth overall. (I haven't ever had that many gears and most of my fleet are manuals, so it's a little different for me.)
