Are your Goodyear Territory MT 315/70R17 Tires Really 35's?

Based on what measurements? BFGs are notoriously smaller than listed. Their 37…is closer to an actual 35. Their 285s are also significantly smaller than claimed.
Ops measurement of 33.75” unmounted

bfgs of the same size (which tend to run small) are 33.75” mounted with weight on them

9.2”treadwidth is listed by Goodyear and insane for a 315 (12.7” tire)

OP can measure what he wants, but he doesn’t know how to measure. My GY measures at over 34” mounted. The spare mounted and measured correctly. When I had BFG “33s” they were actually 32s, significantly smaller than listed. These 315s are about like all 315s/35s.

I’ll measure the width when I get back as I haven’t, but it eyeballs like all 35x12.50s I have had.

And as I scroll down here is another post about this issue haha!

Granted these tires have weight of the stack and the sidewalls are structured differently, it doesn't create enough of an issue that 5 stacked MTs match 4 true to size 315's.

My girlfriend said that they all seem to be about the same size... 😯 Should I be worried?

That said, my Milestar Patagonia M/T's in 295/70R17 actually measure 33.5" tall. Exactly as specified on the Discount Tires Website.

If you do the math:
315 / 25.4 = 12.40315/70 R17Calculate section width to inches
12.40 * .7 = 8.68315/70 R17Calculate section height/radius to inches (70% of width)
8.68 * 2 = 17.36315/70 R17Calculate section diameter (radius*2)
17.36 + 17 = 34.36315/70 R17 Calculate overall height (by adding rim diameter)

The answer is 34.36"
Now, there are some minor rounding losses in that math, but close enough.
