There was an option in the very beginning for the paint matching top on the OBX when I made my reservation and then Ford pulled the plug on it.
Same here. The very first day when I went through each model, the OBX model in cyber orange was the one I liked best. Body colored top in 2dr would be my favorite

Yes...I saw both A51 and Cactus Grey last night. Both great colors.

Believe it or not I really like the Sport. It may be the better choice for me.

Agreed! I totally got what you meant when you said it might grow out of style later on too

Someone in Nebraska has some already?! I've been waiting for someone in the near midwest to have some so I can see the colors in person.

Looks great but this confirms that the Big Bend is the way to go for me; looks better and costs less even with the extras I am planning to get!

Use of the wide angle lens does not help here. We really want a real life look at these vehicles and this was a perfect opportunity lost. On another note painted flares are a giant no. OB wheels are also a deal breaker. Man, I'm struggling to find a build that looks good let alone great. The gray on gray BL is best so far.
Totally agree, these wide angle shots corrupt the look. IMHO they distort the grille and make it look hideous. I wouldn’t make any decisions based upon these pictures.

Good lord. Just imagine in OBX AMB with those juicy blue flares and these Cooper 275/70r18s and stock black/machined OBX 18s. Modular front bumper lifting up its skirt showing that tread. Ahhh!!! What a dime. Ready to place my order. Is it summer yet??

So these are straight swap out on the OBX without any adjustments ?

Yes. That’s what the math is telling us based on dimensions from the factory and backing into other things from Ford published dimensions. Honestly, you could go to 285/70r18s too, there’s just no AT tire in that range. So big bend guys could go to 33.7” and we’re capped at 33.2”s just based on what’s for sale.

keep in mind this is E load. Those Coopers I picked are supposed to be one the quietest best ride without much sacrifice on performance. Weight is not terrible. Reviews are great.

There’s also a 34.3 x 11.6 SL load 295/70 nittograppler g2 that MIGHT be able to fit snugly. it’s a unicorn SL load tire size. In AutoCad it doesn’t hit the crash bars at full turn, and just clears the control arm by 0.3”. but with decent articulation in the real world it probably would have occasional rubbing. And for off-roading that just simply won’t work.

long story short, yes, 33s will be okay

Here’s how big of a difference tires and mod bumper will make.

32.1x10 vs 33.2x11.1

more exposure of tire with mod bumper corner.

just a quick mock-up. Chose not to do in photoshop. Tire width is exactly 10% wider by pixels so it’s scaled.

Outcome: .55” lift, tires stand flush with fenders. Beefier, taller. Makes a big difference. Ratio of body to lift at corners majorly improved. Visually it looks like it sits much higher.

just keep in mind between 1400-1500 on tires mounting etc , plus 795 on gearing and 825 on bumper/bash plates you start to get into BL territory. My OBX build is actually the same as a BL all in cost wise

Outerbanks is easily the ugly duckling of the bunch.
