Not going to happen at all. Musk is little better than a snake oil salesman.

Some sort of partnership? Or ford sourcing batteries from them? I could see that happening

Tesla stock price is based on it NOT being a traditional auto company. The best way to kill that would be to buy one.

Yeah I dont think Ford owners and investors would allow it. They may be there to aquire Tesla, slowly through partnerships, and such. The volume is all wrong for it the other way around.

I appreciate what Elon Musk and his Tesla company have accomplished but "Acquiring" Ford is a fantasy. <-- just my opinion.

Remember the investment analysis in the video is explaining the value of Tesla acquiring Ford, not only for their global manufacturing footprint but for their $23B cash flow vs the much smaller $4B Tesla cash flow. Wall Street analyst are always looking for ways to unlock value in companies and help them grow.

Of course this would also unlock a clash of corporate cultures and sales models.

Traditional 'dealer' sales model is obviously a dinosaur already in God's waiting room. But I don't know how easily Ford could extricate themselves from it. Not only are there existing contractual relationships with dealers...but also numerous state statutes articulating who can & can't do what.

Let alone Tesla couldn't afford it. The stock price is not indicative of asset value.

Never the less, with their stock value, the bankers and investors would be lining up to finance it.

(No, I don't own any Tesla or Ford stock)

-92 million cars produced worldwide

2019 Tesla -370,000 worldwide
Overvalued niche company that was subsidized by a federal tax credit.

VW projected EV production:
2021- 330,000
2023-1 million
2025-3 million
2028-28 million
And Tesla has more capitalization worldwide than Ford AND GM combined.

Been pondering a MachE and waiting on better color and an electric option on the Bronco. I think with F is positioned well with their new offerings. The Electric tech in the new Mach wil be ported into the F150 and other plarforms over time and they will work out the kinks. I think it is a game changer for the EV market. Build quality and paint issues make me think we till see Tesla move out of California an the next few years if they plan to up their game.

I hope Tesla has success, F needs domestic competition in the long run and I worry about GM.

As much as I love Tesla and Elon’s goals, I don’t think I would suppprt a big acquisition like that for anti-trust reasons.

Better to make an electric product so good your competitors try and keep up. Now if they acquired someone like Kia? Hmm.

The Elon haters are hilarious. Dude is responsible for the reusable rocket which may be the greatest technological leap humans have had in the last 20 years.

Dragging the car industry into battery tech is literally a side hustle.
