One with a reservation I made 8/13/21 and one that had no reservation. All I've learned is that allocation is the biggest constraint at this point. The reservation system really means next to nothing.

The build is pretty easy - a 2022 4 door Badlands with 2.7, Sasquatch package, and high package. No other options selected. Soft top.

The first order was placed 12/10 at a large Central Texas dealership it was tied to my reservation and I have heard nothing since the order went through. According to the Ford site, it is not scheduled for production. The second order was placed 12/23 at a smaller dealership in Lubbock. I received word this morning that I am scheduled for build in early March and received my VIN.

I'm not sure why Ford hasn't tried to take care of reservation holders better, but for anyone that's still waiting and doesn't have a build date - reach out to another dealer and see if you can just order another one. The location I ordered the second one from ordered with no deposit gave me a written agreement that there is no markup.
Crazy. I said on here years ago that Ford was highly unlikely to honor the reservation system as they initially indicated, and definitely not how folks imagined they would, and I was laughed out of the room at the time. Honestly seems like Ford greatly underestimated how many reservations they were going to get, and incorrectly assumed it would be a much smaller amount they could hammer out initially and then get to normal production.

I believe Ford Corporate is royally pissed at the three dealerships who offered below MSRP deals. They have been stiff-arming them this entire process. I don't think of it as a problem for Ford, but rather an opportunity to f*^k with them (and us buyers) along the way.
and in the meantime Ford is totally pissing off those reservation holders and we will all eventually tell Ford to piss up a rope, keep their Bronco and buy another brand altogether.

My order info

I wanted a 2 door BadManSasHighTow and was afraid to put in a Reservation and somehow be locked to the 10SpeedAuto in if FoMoCo decided to offer that config sometime after the rollout.

Fast forward to October 15, 2021 when the order banks opened for MY 2022 , I tried placing an order at my local Mullinax ( no ADM / no dealer fee / MSRP ) and could not get them to place my order.

They lied and said "Ford is not taking any MY2022 orders yet". I kept asking over the next 2 weeks while I kept looking elsewhere.

After emailing dealers in a 200 mile radius, I found Greenway Ford Orlando stated they did have allocation and would place my order @ MSRP but did have 2 dealer fees that added up to $1,495.00.

I thought that was a fair ask to get my order in ASAP.

October 31, 2021 , I went in and did the paperwork, put down $1,000 , have a signed Priority 19 DORA @ MSRP.

Salesman's experience at that time was, Order to Delivery was taking 6 to 9 months.

Received my Preview Order email from FoMoCo a few days later just like my salesman said.

I am order #N170 with the dealership and was told status is "Unscheduled Clean"

When the scheduling came out last week , I got a call from them to let me know I was still Unscheduled Clean and that their Order #N166 was scheduled with a VIN.

They have been receiving deliveries regularly.

I asked a lot of questions about orders, they had around 50 orders in the 1st few days and they had been trickling in since then.

I was the 1st walk in / No Reservation MY2022 order.

Based on constraints, I am sure they will have a few delivered that were ordered after mine since it has Several of the "Deadly Sins" that I am willing to wait for.

120,000 of the orders were reservations and they can only build 10,000 a month…so yea they are building broncos that are reserved, if the dealers have allocation and they have parts. No they are not going to send the majority to only certain regions of the country to the large dealers everyone flocked to with promises of quick delivery. They want to distribute evenly and give all dealers equal opportunity and I think that why folks are having success with small dealers especially if unconstrained.

I have posted an almost identical story to this forum. I'm a 7/14 res holder with a 1/20 order placed at AutoNation. No joy in 2021.

Reupped my 1/20 order in early December and at the same time placed a new order with a smaller dealer.

Bingo - my new back of the line order with the smaller dealer is scheduled for production next month Feb 07. My original order is still waiting.

Bottom line - I agree with the original post - if you are hanging out with no love on your original order/reservation, find a different dealer and order again, especially if you can live with a "buildable" unit.

Original order: 2-door BL, Man, Non-Squatch, High
New order: 4-door BL, Man, Non-Squatch, Soft, High

Not entirely apples to apples: or better MIC to softy.

Funny how if a dealership springs a surprise $15k ADM on a customer that’s waited a year and a half for his Bronco….Ford couldn’t give two shits and turns a blind eye the thieving bastards.
But, let a dealership play by Ford’s own rules, and perhaps along the way, save a customer a few thousand dollars, then that’s the bridge too far…..that’s the thing that gets Ford’s panties all in a bunch and causes a course correction and rule changes.

Ok, this is the first thread that has me pissed off enough to place another order. Ford placed me with a dealer 2500 miles away (WA --> KY), which made no sense. To their credit, the dealer has a great reputation and has done several B6G members right. Salesman keeps encouraging me go go softie because I think he believes they will run out of allocation before Ford picks up a 2dr Basesquatch.

Not budgeting on WHAT I order, so time time to reconsider WHERE to order.

Ford is proving they value "real" walk-in, over-the-counter orders over the "virtual" initiated-by-website reservations ones... so, I'd be an idiot not to hedge my bet (somewhat locally) with a "real" order ASAP. If getting a Bronco means gaming the system to find the right dealer, I'm in.

Maybe consolidate a list of the "right" things to look for when choosing a dealer for a "real", old-school, custom order?

Small town? Small volume dealer? Large city? Fleet specialists? Multi-line? Ford only? I've seen several recommendations that seem all over the map.

What formulas have actually worked?

** If someone already has a bead on one of those anywhere in the PNW, can you save me the anaylsis and point me to a dealership/salesman I could trust?

My botched order rolled off the assembly line last week and as of last week the dealer swears the replacement order for my 2 door is held up because of the 2.7, hard top, 2 door configuration.... I think they're full of it since they're a big dealer, but we'll see... in the mean time I'm just saving up more....

?? you ordered 12/10/2021?? you ordered how many? why not order 3 or 4?? WTF??

get a grip dude, I'm sorry, when you special order a vehicle there is no set time frame for production and delivery, most folks have been waiting a lot longer, I ordered 01/21/2021, built 09/20/2021, delivered 10/09/2021. I'm sorry, like WTF, this seems like whiny little bitchville, grow up!

Seems like you’re the only dude bitching here. I’m just putting information out there. I saw an identical build to mine get pulled within a week when he had no reservation. My dealer was literally in disbelief, so I placed an order and had the exact same thing happen - order was pulled to be built before the one that was reserved.

problem is super high demand vehicle, I would order one from a local dealership and be prepared to patiently wait, if not, just don't buy a Bronco

I have special ordered the last four new vehicles we have purchased (4 from 2001 until this one in 2021), you never have a set production time and delivery, all you can do is wait and hope for the best. My first special order took 6 months, next 4 months, next 2 months, and Bronco 10 months

Simple and NO ONE wants to listen or understand. It's allocation. It becomes before ANYTHING else.

Yep. And many dealers won’t tell you their allocation vs orders status. All my original dealer said is “we have a ton of both”
