Call me crazy, but that is the equivalent of a major smack to the face of a customer who had been ready and able to fork over north of $64,000 for a new Bronco. Looking for any logical reason why I should not do so at this point.

When you start thinking about the $64k price tag and you're not a hardcore off roader .... there there are options. Whats keeping me hanging on is that roof comes off and I want a manual transmission.

I hear you. If that color is a deal breaker, then I get it.

If they got rid of manual or 2dr, those would be deal breakers for me.
Absolutely agree, no 2DR no manual I'd be out as well.

Even having a day two reservation, I knew that this process would take time. So, I settled in the the "long haul". Having said that, given the highly optioned Wild Trak build that I ordered in February 2021, I was soon pushed to the 2022 pile. Then, shortly thereafter and with Ford's ongoing hardtop issues (I ordered dual tops with painted hard top), my build was pushed to the 2023 pile. "OK, that's not cool, but whatever..." Then, the ultimate insult came this past Friday when my dealer called to convert my order from the existing 2021 to....well who knows at this point. During our brief conversation, he informed me that the Antimatter Blue that I wanted from day one and, in fact, ordered my Wild Trak to be, has now been discontinued by Ford. Call me crazy, but that is the equivalent of a major smack to the face of a customer who had been ready and able to fork over north of $64,000 for a new Bronco. I have never seen such a disaster of a product launch. I'm sure there have been some, but none in which I had a personal stake. I have not yet cancelled my order and received my deposit back, but I'm eyeing my phone as I tap this out. Looking for any logical reason why I should not do so at this point.
Well, sorry about you just finding out about the paint being discontinued, they announced that few months back. Secondly, why push your build back for duel tops, just go with standard MIC top. And order other top in a year or so. Tops will be a dime a dozen.

Since I have had to wait so long, and continue waiting.....I decided it was time for a few upgrades to the Ole Grey Lady... 60mm suspension lift, Fox Shocks and steering stabilizer, wheel spacers for a more aggressive stance, and yellow powder coated springs to match the brake calipers. I'm in no rush, but I would like to give the OGL her garage spot for most days if/when the Bronco ever makes it into the rotation as my daily.

The OP is a day two res holder. Look at the build week 11/15 thread, there are people on there with July 2021 reservations getting builds. He has every right to be upset. He was willing to spend $60,000 but Ford did not want his money. Crazy.

I have 2004 TJ X - in order to do any serious off-roading I need to re-gear her. I would also like to get a hard top for winter. She only has 103K on the clock and is in very good shape. Easy to work on. If I invest $5-$6k i could be happy just keeping her and tell Ford to go take a flying F*$k through a Hula Hoop!

Unless you are in love with the Bronco, just go get something else.

Defender on 35s.

Yeah, but they are ugly and stuff. They stalk me when I'm driving around town. Jealous, probably.

That feeling when you order too fancy a Bronco trim designed for fancy people who donā€™t really want what a Bronco is.

If I didnt already have my bronco, this would be a no brainer for me.

Local dealer has a few of these on the lot.

After watching the tfl shoot out with this, jlu and bronco these defenders are giant pieces of crap. If you haven't already watched... Look it up. Their defender pinched a tire 10 minutes in on the trail.

I'm not giving you advice, but just something to consider: If you were going to get dual tops, why not get the soft top with the hook ups for the wiper/defrost? Then you can get the hard top later on. Just a thought.

Iā€™m also a Day 1 res holder with a Bronco stuck in Detroit for the last 112 days. I did my homework and figured out how and where to make a buildable build.

That sounds like our buildā€¦we chose another color, stuck with Wildtrack Lux and now MIC topā€¦. We keep reminding ourselves its a new model, during a pandemic, and global supply issues hitting nearly every brandā€¦along with nearly everything elseā€¦ā€¦The longer it takes the more bugs that might get worked outā€¦.is it a shit show, yes we can agree to that, do we like it, NOā€¦but it trends across every aspect of life lately. End of the day, its just a vehicle and if they never offered AMB we would have picked a different color and still done a order.

Yup. Real story is that they just can't make the damn things. How many have been actually delivered to the name matched reservation holders? 5%? 10%?

I'm dumb for falling for this reservation system. It was only used to keep us on the hook. We should have gotten the message in May when Ford bailed on production estimates. They obviously knew and obviously believed too many people would bail.

TLDR: Time to start looking elsewhere.
