assateague memorial day

So, my girlfriend and I were discussing what to do for memorial day weekend. I suggested doing the assateague beach osv drive but we've never been and are curious for advice from those who have done it. Or if anyone knows of a bronco gathering that weekend we could join in on?

Have not been this year.... but the same pass gets you in VA and MD. However you can't drive all the way and depending on times some things are roped off..... turtles, birds, etc... Chincoteague VA has some sweet views too... Also there is good history at the NASA area and good ethanol free gas just as you get into town.
