I am by no means a insider or will I likely have any more info than this tidbit but I do have confirmation that there will be atleast 2 different suspension tunes with different parts one standard and one for offroad. Im sure everyone already assumes as much but just wanted to throw that out there. Cant wait to see the thing in action!

Sounds like what the new Jeep Wranglers have. The Jeep Sahara suspension is tuned for every day drivers. While the Rubicon is tuned more for off road, plus sits inch & half higher with 33's. I went with the Rubicon and I'm very pleased. Will probably go same route with the new Bronco.

Which is what we have seen in the photos one control arm is aluminum (Explorer), early camo pics and what looks like a boxed steel one (Ranger), 2 DR "bomber".

The thing I'm curious about is whether the FX4 (or whatever the Bronco specific equivalent is) will be capable and cost effective enough out of the box to be worth getting, or whether a guy (or gal, don't wanna be sexist) would be better off buying the base 4x4 (nevermind that 2WD shouldn't be an option on these, but probably will) and immediately upgrading the tires and suspension with aftermarket parts.

My thoughts as well. Rumors of 37's and then I think will the setup we see with 35's be able to handle 37's ?? How will we be able to option ??? pricing of packaging/ trim levels ???
should I just get the cheapest model possible and just build my own suspension ????
I guess I will just need to wait to see what Ford comes out with and then go from there.

From what I am seeing it will be easily modified to fit a V-8 and SFA swap if needed. ?

I guessing they will be targeting the Jeep Wrangler market. If that's the case we might get three trim levels. The Wrangler has a base model, a Sahara which offers nicer trim, interior and wheels. Then the Rubicon which offers highest trim level, bigger wheels (33 for tires) and a better off road suspension (approximately inch & half taller Springs and better Shocks). I ended up going with a Rubicon, I figured spend the money up front and be done with it. Very pleased with decision.

They might do what they're doing with the Ranger, though. You can get the FX4 package on the Ranger at every trim level. The only thing that bugs me about it is that the STX appearance package is a "requirement" for the FX4 package. It unnecessarily adds $1000 to the price of the vehicle.

If the Bronco XL (or whatever they call its equivalent) with the FX4 package is at least as capable off the lot as my friend's lifted FJ Cruiser, I could do without a lot of creature comforts just to save some money getting something I can take straight to the trails.

As long as I can get a off road package they can throw any appearance package on they want. I'm in for all the bells and whistles, the more the better. I loaded my Rubicon up with every available option and love it. The price you paid for the vehicle is long forgotten after a few months of purchase. But you'll be enjoying all the extra options for years of ownership. IMO

Took the words right out of my mouth. I want the off road stuff but don't need the creature comforts.

Ford says it's an off-roader ……….. and I want an off roader.

That's a very common sentiment.... one which I agree with.
Base model with the strongest powertrain options. I see the appeal, but would in all reality get the XLT version with the same drivetrain upgrades ....I dunno, AIN'T NOBODY SEEN THE DAMN THING YET!!!! LOL

It would be very nice to see three or four trim levels, maybe even five. But that would be wishful thinking on a first year release. I would hope for a XL, a XLT and Lariat version. A King Ranch would be way cool (love the leather in those bad boys). Or the holy grail, a Rapture Bronco which I would immediately head down to my local Ford dealer and throw a deposit down.

The electronic creature comforts (XLT and up) and offroad electronics (FX4) are a must off of the dealer lot, while one can flexibly upgrade the suspension with aftermarket parts. I'm very happy with my 2019 Ranger XLT FX4, and suspect that I'd be likewise with a similarly-trimmed Bronco, as would most buyers who aren't exactly hard-core off-roaders.
