New to this reserved order business. When should I expect to pay on this thing? In December when we get to finalize the configuration, or on delivery, or somewhere in between?

When order banks open in December :) Some dealers will ask for a miniscule deposit when the order is put into the system. The majority of paying/financing happens when you take delivery and sign.

On delivery. Some dealers might ask for a small or large deposit, but it is negotiable and you should ask for $0. Give them an incentive to make sure it is delivered quickly.

The only exception would be for a configuration that is unpopular in your area (e.g. grocery-getter with manual trans) that the dealer does not want to be stuck with.
