Just got home from the Atlanta Auto Show where they had a 4-door iconic silver squatched outer banks. I know most of this has been covered so I’ll give just my impressions on 2 things.
1) it is bigger than I thought it would be. Definitely felt like it would be a more comfortable ride than Jeep but we weren’t allowed to sit in it so hard to say. I know someone posted the opposite so I guess this is a matter of perception/expectations but it made my 06 Wrangler seem puny. And it’s got a lift and 33x12.50 mud terrains on it. Just an awesome looking vehicle and an awesome aggressive look to it. Pics really do not do it justice.
2) the doors are SO light. Immediately noticeable when I opened them. Ford nailed this. Anyone who has ever removed doors from a wrangler knows how awesome this is. I couldn’t believe how light they were. If I was guessing, I’d say maybe half the weight of the doors on my 06 wrangler.
bonus: those of you getting a 4-door will love the cargo area. It is a legit cargo space. I was shocked how big that area is. I know my 2-door will have like half that space but the 4-door can actually handle packing things in it.
Like I said, nothing huge to add that hasn’t been covered but I’m glad I got to see it in person. Made me want mine even more. I’ve attached some pics as well.
