In the rolling hills of Troy, NC, we enjoyed an awesome trip, off roading for about 4 hours at this beautiful Outpost.

Ford Bronco Attended Uhwarrie National Forest Off-Roadeo Outpost, a blast! IMG_0521

First thing I noticed was that at the full Off-Rodeo, there were only a few 2 door owners. At the Outpost, it was mostly two door owners!

Started off with introductions and trail rules, the usual.

Then air down and take off!

Don’t forget, you’re using your own Bronco at the Outpost!

Another comparison to the Tennessee Off-Rodeo is that the trails that lead from one ā€œobstacleā€ to another are more demanding, no boring sections here.

And this is a public off roading site, you’ll see anything and everything!

This motorcycle passed us (9 in our group), but managed to drop the bike twice on the way up.

Broncos vs Broncos!

And really good obstacles. We attended the ā€œIntermediateā€ trail ride, for Badlands or Sasquatch only.

Hats off to Erica, our trail guide for the day. She’s one of the best!

After our trail ride, we enjoyed box lunches, your choice of roast beef, chicken salad, or turkey and pesto, plus fruit, snacks and drinks, before airing back up to go home.

If they do this one again, I recommend this bed and breakfast, about a 25 minute ride from the Outpost.

Badin Inn, Badin NC.

Looks like a good time. Been to Uwharrie twice since getting our Bronco. I recognize your trail pics. Did they take you over Dickie Bell and Daniel trails? Have you been to Beasley Knob near Blairsville, Ga? Another cool area.

I think we did Dickie Bell? I’m pretty sure she said Daniel was too advanced? I know I remember hearing those trail names, something to that effect. Never been to Beasley Knob. I’ll add that to the list!

We did Rocky Mount (92), Wolf Den (89), Dutch John (90) and Slab Pile (79). All in all a good day with 9 Broncos in our group!

Dickie Bell is a Jeep Badge of Honor Trail. Daniel, imho is harder, and not a BOH trail. Go figure.

Beasley Knob, also a BOH, is actually a group of trails, some not all that difficult, some more so. And there’s one, a full on rock garden, that you better have 38’s, lots of clearance, and a bunch of skill to navigate. I can’t imagine doing anything at Beasley when it’s wet.

We were at Thursdays Run. What at 1 class event as All of this groups events. We had perfect weather, just a little wet in the morning that added excitement and challenge.
Thanks for the Professional Guidance.

I’ve been to New Hampshire and Moab Off Roadeos. New Hampshire is similar terrain and difficulty.

Remember the Outpost events are half day vs full day for the Off Roadeos. The guides are the same (Erica works at Moab and Cody worked at Texas and is now at Tennessee), but at the Outpost they guide vs instruct. They guided us through the terrain and answered any questions we had, but did not have planned instruction.
