Auto Dim Rearview Mirror Stuck On

My mirror was fine yesterday when I drove and this afternoon it was so dark I could barely see out the back window. I tried to see my kids in the back seat and I couldn’t see a thing. I drove it last night, it’s like it’s stuck on dim now. Tried unplugging and reconnecting the wiring harness and shining a flashlight at the sensor. Any other tips before I try the dealer?

Check to see if anything is blocking the sensor behind the mirror

Turns out it was upside down. I guess the back sensor was blocked. My kid had turned it sideways and I wasn’t sure which direction was up vs down. Flipped it and it was fixed.

Just found this post. My mirror on my outer banks is staying super dark even during the day. I don't see any switches or anything to flip.
The sensor hole is on the bottom though. Sometimes it's regular but lately it's been super dark. Any pics of how you fixed it would help.

I was having exact same issue! It would never have occurred to me that the mirror was just upside down! Simple fix!!
Now to get my passenger window to operate properly..
