Auto Stop Start is definitely dangerous, as it cut out while taking a U-turn on a major thruway today. The engine shut down in unusual situations will eventually lead to an accident - hopefully without serious injury. @Ford Motor Company please consider issuing a directive to Dealers to fix Auto Stop Start so it is in the OFF position upon start up. Or approve dealers to install Auto Eliminator approved by Ford. This is no joke, cutting engine in odd situations is very dangerous.

I don't think this is what happened, it's an issue I just doubt it an auto stop start issue.

Did it just stop on you mid turn?

So unless you had a defect, the start/stop only stops if you're standing on the brakes, not moving and, not trying to turn the steering wheel. Even letting off the brakes a tiny little bit or slight movement to the steering wheel, it re-starts.

So ya, you need to get your shit checked out or this is a non-issue...

If I did stop mid-turn, it was only for a second, and then it cut out and re-engaged immediately. Enough to notice an odd driving experience in traffic. Then you counter with over acceleration, then it's all a mess. Trust me - it was the Auto Stop function.

You should sue somebody. :)
That's what I'm trying to tell Ford. It won't be me, but someday, someone! Just throwing my 2 cents in the mix.

So... your engine cutout for a moment while turning? is that what you are trying to say?

This has been my experience with mine as well. 1500 miles in I used the Flashcal to turn it off along with the annoying double honk. I also turn it off every time I drive my wife's Explorer. I'm sure it saves gas in some scenario but I can't imagine the constant restarting of the engine is more efficient the times it's shut off for me when driving. Regardless it annoys me, so it's gone!

Your system must have a glitch if you only stepped on the brakes for a second it shouldn't turn off get it checked. Do what I do drive it in sport mode it is a lot more fun and you won't have to worry about auto stop.

Push the button and turn it off as I do. Not a big deal. Isn’t safety part of the drivers job?

The other option (I live in Houston) is to keep the AC on MAX and set to it’s lowest setting..
