So I've read a number of posts about people experiencing reversed polarity on the metra harnesses and I'm getting conflicting information from Crutchfield about which wires are positive leads for the front dash and rear pod speakers on Broncos with the B&O system.

Can anyone confirm for me what the correct positive leads are on these locations? I've seen the wiring diagrams on the site, but Crutchfield is telling me its incorrect.

What I have now is:
- Left Front Positive = Green with Blue stripe
- Right Front Positive = Violet with Grey stripe
- Left Rear Positive = Brown with Blue stripe
- Right Rear Positive = Violet with Orange Stripe

Thanks!

The Metra adapters for the dash/rear panels are often color coded backwards (black for positive, red for negative) for the Bronco wiring.

They will still "work" wired backwards, but will sound very harsh and not very pleasing.

Here are the wiring diagrams for a 22-23, I don't think it's any different for a 24.

I think those are the same diagrams I found on the site here, which is where I got the color codes I listed. I just wanted to see if anyone could confirm, since Crutchfield seems to think these are wrong.

I would trust the diagrams over a sales guy 100% of the time

I like Crutchfield. I give them a good deal of business and recommend them a lot. They are not fallible with their service though.

This may not help you, but many of bought our 4" harness adapters from this small company. This was before Metra came out with an adapter. They worked great!

Also, regarding polarity. Reversing polarity is only bad if one channel is out of phase. If both the left and right side are reversed, you won't be able to tell the difference.

Although you'd want to take into account the rear speakers and sub.

I just ordered 2 pairs of Hertz and 2 pairs of the metra adapters from Crutchfield. All 4 were polarity correct

I would agree with you as a general rule for most car audio. But...unless you add an aftermarket amp to the rear pods, you can't hear them. Also, the sub frequencies don't significantly overlap the other speakers. Given the distance from the front speakers, I doubt you could tell that the polarity is reversed,
