So I’m camping in the back of my big bend 4 door with my two kids with the seats down and a foam mattress topper down.. anyway.. we discovered that there is no way to open the back door from the inside of the vehicle! My kids tell me it’s a kidnapper vehicle! LOL. I thought there had to be a way to except a vehicle from the back as a safety issue?
Pic of our movie theatre. I really wish the back windows could zip down into a screen for some sort movement though.

Got to love the minds of those kids. My kids used to freak out when they were younger and they would see a white van. They would say that is a child abductor van. There is a thread on here about ways to release the tailgate from the inside.

I think that only applies to closed off areas like a trunk. For the Bronco, the kids can always just turn around and use one of the rear doors. 🤷‍♂️

This is true, tried locking a drunk friend in the back of my Mariner once. He just climbed over the seats and out the front door 😂

I'm not sure what is more concerning, that you had a drunk friend who was so drunk you had to lock them in a car... or that you had a Mariner.

We could. But I added makeshift screens on the windows so we can have breeze without bugs but now I can’t open the door. We’re climbing in and out through the front door lol

Does your turtle shell have an emergency release to get out?

The only sport utility wagon I've ever had (out of probably a dozen) that opened fom the inside was a 1955 willys.

I miss my '93 4Runner and the family wagons in the 70's and '80's that had the roll down back windows (and the rear facing seats in the wagons).
