Well yes, but you have to remember to turn them on and off every day. Trying to bypass that, just run them when the lights are on.

I was thinking the same thing since all of my upfitters will be taken when I am done.

To me it seems to be the best route, they are on when the headlights are on and off. I don't have to worry about remembering.

Yup, Only thing I can think of is when on the trail having the ability to just have the fogs on without the lights just to keep from blinding anyone but keeping the trail lit enough to still navigate. I keep going back and forth if I want to do this setup or Baja Designs or Diode Dynamics.

So I am thinking about ordering these for my WT, would it be a bad idea to just wire them to the low beams? I don't want to use the uplifters or buy a whole new headlight switch with fog button. What do you all think?

Check your local laws. I can tell you in the State of TN you can be pulled over and ticketed for using fog lights when the weather does not dictate. I know this because I was pulled over for this exact reason. Honestly I think the cop was just looking for a reason as it was late and i think he was looking to pop someone for DUI. But he did recite the law to me. I was surprised

Up fitter switches only work when the ignition is on....so just leave the switch in the on position 👍🏼
^This^

I wouldn’t wire them to your headlights. I don’t know how bright these are, but if you start blinding people on the road that’s not good. May also be asking for a ticket, if they aren’t SAE compliant.

Just install another switch. Just my 2 cents.

But they would be on during the day for no reason.

I can’t fully understand why you would be against wiring them to the fog light wiring and just adding that switch. Unless you turn the dial to off, the fog lights will remain on at all times the lighting system is active (parking lights, auto lamps, and headlights on). This would entirely achieve your desires.

I believe somewhere in my post history is the diagram for headlight wiring, I can source and post it again when you’re closer to performing this task.

In summary the wires that supply low beam power are Brown with Blue stripe for the Left and Blue with Green stripe for the right.

I wholly do not advise this method though as you will void any coverage should the headlights fail
Yea I know I can order the switch, was trying to save a couple of bucks.

The switch them off 🤷
Or learn how to power them from the battery from a fused conductor and use a relay to activate them from your headlights 👍🏼
Do NOT connect them rotor headlights to power them.

No do not tie them into your low beams. Because then you can never turn them off. They are also not street legal.

Use an upfitter. Leave the upfitter on. This way they are always on. Granted your lows will not always be on. So that's one drawback.

Eventually I plan to program my truck so my headlights are always on, unless there is an option in there already for that (canadian drivers for Daytime running?).

I did that on my Raptor and leave my fog upfitter on all the time.

On the Bronco it's a bit different since it's a newer truck. I've not programmed it all in yet

Upfitter switches are only active when key is in on position. If you wire through them, you can leave them on and they will work like parking/daytime lights. You also have the ability to turn off if it becomes an issue with the cops.
