@Theherofails

My 4dr BL, SAS, 2.7, High, w/ MIC top was built the day before yours on 9/30 and I took delivery on 10/15. I just read this and went outside to take some pictures of my top as well.

For the most part it looks like their new seam rolling process worked fine along the top side edges of the clam shell where the roof rack attaches. However the left top corner and the right side rear vertical seam where it was cut from the mold are both slightly showing some of the layers.

Here are several pictures:

Let’s hope they put some extra attention on build quality soon
My belief is Ford's $$$BILLIONS and ALL their attention is focused on electrification. You can only juggle so many balls at the same time.

I may get blamed for toxic positivity here, but the truck is fantasitco. I saw one in the wild yesterday - and it was spectacular. If you want $100,000 perfection in your $50,000 rig - buy something else. Chant with me: Cancel It. Cancel It. Cancel It.

Someone else will be right behind you ready to pay $10,000 over sticker for what you walked away from.
The Bronco is a great design and yes is a great vehicle but I think it’s fair to criticize Fords execution on building it.

If you have money to just blow and get screwed on dealerships then more power to you.
I expect a higher quality when I’m spending that amount of money.

I took delivery of my Bronco (Badlands, Sasquatch, Hardtop) on 10/14. I too at delivery was not convinced I got a good top. I had my dealer mark it on the due bill as “hardtop unfinished edges”.

Make sure your dealer gets you a new top ordered at least
Yes, that's looking rearward on the driver side at the seam (crevasse?) aft of the side glass. The current appearance doesn't bother me but if this starts to look like particle board sitting in the rain then we're going to have a problem. I'm afraid to try any kind of fix that might void the warranty, assuming they'll even address a "cosmetic" issue down the road. I do have plenty of snake skin effect going on as well. What exactly was the MIC 2.0 supposed to be fixing? My top was made 9/21, FWIW.
This is more than a cosmetic issue. Once any moister gets in there the whole structure of the top is compromised. Think of a house with water damage. Ford knows this that’s why they are scrambling to fix or cover it up.

What I don't get is the why they built it the way they did.

Option 1: Look at a semi-solid gel-coated shower stall at Home Depot, why is the top not gel-coated to be as smooth as a baby's behind?

Option 2.: Why is it not blow-molded, roto-molded or injection-molded from single source pvc beads? Single layer throughout, color throughout, scratches fixed with scothbrite pads?

Look no further than LittleTykes, or Step 2 (Big Wheels and other kids toys and playground equipment) for how to construct these.

Just sayin' if you are going to do it on the cheap then do it for the least cost.

Close. It's recycled cardboard with plastic molded around it.

Has anyone had a top replaced at the dealer? One of the delivered 1.0s.

If you did, was the WHOLE roof replaced or just the front/mid panels?
