If anyone has owned their Badlands in a summer month yet, how does the black interior do in the sun? The only thing holding me back from getting a Badlands is the thought of sitting on black vinyl on a 90 day after the roof has been down. Flashbacks to the 70s

I'm in Austin. Not gonna lie, it gets hot as hell. I didn't even have it for the summer. Parking without the top in direct sun when it was 80-85 in October made the seats very hot.

I wouldn't change anything though. I love those seats

Also it's not like black black. Kinda gray black. But I got in October so I haven't had the July/August sun to opine. But I've got the flaccid top so I would just go carriage mode if it was blazing.

Too bad that you can't spec the Everglades MGV seats, they are Space Grey. Another option is to get some inexpensive seat covers - but that seems rather silly. There is a reason that you never see a black interior on a boat. Still, I'm sticking with the MGV.

Definitely a concern here in Vegas. My dirt mountain refugee didn't show up until October so I haven't experienced summer yet. I'm getting a bimini top for the warm weather and will probably tilt my seatback forward while at work to keep the direct sun off. Alternatively I can add seat covers (not ideal) or leave the MIC top on since I'm adding IR tint, but that defeats the whole purpose of having a removable roof right?

ive had my BL since June. It does not take long for seats to get hot with the top off. My wife would have to sit on something when the top was off bc seats were so hot.
I purchased the mesh Bimini top problem solved. I could leave in direct Sun all day and seats were cool

Any day it was sunny this is how I drove it! Sat outside in direct Sun all day

Appreciate everyone's feedback... this is what I thought. My Bronco is meant for the beach and a lot of time with the roof off in the sun. I will stick with the OBX cloth seats. With all of the configurations, I wish there were just a few more options.

Out in CA with my MGV BL's and it does get hot, but I am with @ATX_Bronco. I wouldn't change anything about my BL's Bronco. They cool down quickly and the AC rocks in the Bronco. In my opinion nothing to worry about, but a Bimini top would help if you are worried.

Ive done it in my jeep for the last 8 summers both in FL and CO. I do have a spidershade to assist with knocking down some of the sun.

The answer to this question is probably dependent on how far north or south you reside.

San Antonio here. Like someone said. It's more of dark grey than black. We'll be baking in the 100's in a few months and I went MGV for its durability over anything else.

Does anyone make any good cloth seat covers for the summer heat?
