My 2 door had the wash out flooring and MGV seats.
I hated them.
In Texas heat, they wouldn't breath and led to very sweaty back/butt.

The 4 door has the leather, or leather trimmed vinyl, or whatever.. But it IS different than what the 2 door had and not as bad. Though not as good as my jeep's vented leather seats :(

The MGV definitely does not breathe. Your back and butt will be sweaty in summer weather. MGV = SwampAss. Other than that, they are great.
Yeah but you can sit on the MGV in a wet bathing suit with no worries. My BL goes mainly to the beach and pool so it’s awesome for that type of duty. I assume it would work just as well for wet/melting snow on your clothes in the northern climates

Only speaking truth from experience. Had mine for 2 years. Just traded out to a Bronco raptor.

I have a BB, not a BL but FWIW, I should've gone BL. I would take MGV on a Bronco every day because I like my top off, I have kids and a wife who are hard on things, I(My wife) have a fancy German car with ventilated seats(ie crumb sucking voids). After years of overpaying for nice cars, I wanted bare bones, utilitarian fun. Sure, I could add all that stuff but then I'd be complaining it cost as much as my wife's X5. Different vehicles for different purposes. I just feel a Bronco and MGV are meant to be.

Hey DaveInSA,
Just make sure you have a look at the "leather" seats before buying a vehicle with them, as they are not full leather!
They are best described as lightly leather "trimmed", meaning the majority of the seat is MGV. I have also seen on this forum and others that the leather trim is wearing a lot faster than they should, with some already cracking. You may want to look into this more before deciding.
Good luck with your decision.

I think the real question is how bad to you want carpeted floors and power seats? If those two items are worth $2k to you then absolutely get the leather.

If you like the washout floors but need leather, you may consider putting the $2k you save with MGV towards something like Katzkin.

Personally, MGV is a must for me for the washout floors alone.

I understand…back in October 2021, while waiting for my order to get processed (Badlands manual Sasquatch), I spent an hour at the Texas State Fair going back and forth between two models they had, comparing the leather to the MGV. I actually liked both materials and really wanted the rear cup holders more than the power seats. In the end, I wanted the washout floors more than both and stayed with the MGV. I’ve since added the aftermarket cupholders (not as nice as the leather fold-down, but works). I like the comfort and feel of the MGV and don’t move the seat that often…so I’m happy with my choice given I’ve had a lot of mud and dust on the seats and floors.
Here is the cup holder option I used. Fits the Molle panel’s perfectly.

This right here is the only answer you need. Don't waste the $2k on some leather trimmed vinyl.. get the best of both with real leather plus the utility of wash outs. None of these should have ever come with nasty carpet in the first place

I love leather seats and will always pick it if it is optioned to me. Super durable, cleans easy and I can repair it myself if ever needed.
