Baja Designs 8x XL Linkable Kit Installed

Well this kits been sitting at my house for a month or so now. We finally had the truck wrapped and it was time to install the bar (didn't install it knowing I'd have to remove it when we had the truck wrapped, since we had the entire pillar wrapped in a satin white).

Installation wasn't bad at all. Since I had done the 6x Linkable Kit on my bumper, it was basically the same process. I did have to get my wife to help me hold one end up.

The only thing I do not like is the harness off the light bar. The upfitter harness plugs into the light bar and the plug sits about half-way down from the windshield. I know some folks have run the wire under their soft-top but I wasn't about to do that. I do plan to just make a new harness/connector myself but since I was doing this at home, I didn't have all of my weatherpack and wiring that I do at the shop. So that's a project for later on this week.

Wheels/Tires/Lift Kit go on tomorrow, which is why I did this at home (as it's getting dropped off in the morning for the rest). But here are a few shots of the kit installed on our Bronco.

I wo Der why there is t any Aux wiring connections at the two connection points. Seems like the could have had a center aux connect in between the two bolts.

Where, on the roof itself? There is an aux wire inside the vehicle but you'd need to drill a hole to get it outside the vehicle. That and that wire isn't going to be thick enough to handle 16 amps of power, which is what those XL lights pull

I've never actually seen it at night with everything on, just the fogs. I've got the rock guards on (I like how they look) and i've yet to honestly drive at night with the covers off. I'm ASHAMED to admit that actually

Once the tires/wheels go on i'll drive take some videos at night with the covers off and lights on

Not sure, i've not driven anywhere yet It's going for tires/wheels tomorrow so it's just sitting at my house right now

I've bought all my lights from you guys, but that harness running down pillar looks terrible. Has to be a solution for that, if not I'd take them off.

mom gonna make my own but I’ll have to talk to Baja about their design as I agree I don’t like the harness - you’ll always have a harness down the side with any light bar but the connector there bothers me

Ya that's a big harness, I thought there was access from top to inside, but not for something that big. All my lights are waiting put together for a 12/13 build. Baja bumper pod, Lp6s, diode pros, C1s, and Era4s

I have the Lp6s for the bumper in combo, they have hi, low, back lights and side lighting. I'll have to drill mod bumper to mount. Also will use auxiliary switch not upfitter, it would take 2 or 3 spots on upfitter.

Hows the wind noise?

YIKES. I mean.. with a soft top it causes a wind flapping effect against the soft top. Now it was windy this morning as I was driving, so I'm sure that had something to do with it, but it definitely added some noise. It wasn't a howling sound, it was actually the wind causing the soft top to flap around more. And oddly it was coming from the rear more then the front. But I mean that's the price you pay for a killer looking bar up top. I do sell wind diffusers, designed to go on straight light bars, so I may take a queue from that and try and design a bar to help that wind flow better
