I had a great trip from Arkansas to California to meet up with 13 other bronco enthusiast for a 4 day excursion through parts of the Baja California, Mexico peninsula last week. Before I made it to San Diego I ventured through OK, TX, NM, UT, AZ on a roundabout visiting places I knew I'd enjoy. But it's ALOT of gas fill-ups cause the bronco has such a small tank, but was worth it.

Here's a video of the trip to and some of the expedition. We are traveling in Mexico at such a fast pace it's tough to get pictures and videos of the other rigs. While there we drive hard and fast on Score International Baja 500 and 1000 trails and other roads that get us to our daily destinations. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks! Its an Elite FS 7 with an external GPS receiver (which I highly recommend). Many of the others were having slow GPS response with their units and would miss turns on the trail because of lag.

Looks like an ACFab front sway bar disconnect wasn't quite up to the job? Did it snap at high speed and it did that much damage to the axle, coilover, and control arm in the time it took the driver to slow down, or was it purposely driven on like that?

The constant running and severe bumps we hit wore the cotter pins down quite a bit but ultimately it was the metal connecting bracket that failed-but I blame it on the extreme driving we did. I disconnected a portion of it but not enough, cause it dug into the CV joint boot and tore it up. I still had about 30 miles of rough road to travel to get out so no choice there. But drove fine (without the sta bar connected). I drove it almost 2000 miles with the sta bar disconnected and the messed up CV boot back home without any further damage. My dealer is going to try and see if warranty will cover the CV replacement but don't yet know the outcome of that. No damage to the coil overs or axle.

It was definitely worth the expense. EXO took care of planning the trails, hotel and meal expense, had a chase crew with mechanics and spare parts. It was top of the line!

Looks like an amazing adventure! Loved the photos. Going to check out the video later.

What's one piece of gear or mod that worked better than expected?

Then what's one piece of gear or kit you wish you had or planing to add after doing this?

I'd have to say coilovers were a real plus. There were some broncos that only had the Sasquatch OEM shocks and they had a little trouble getting through the rough bumps and "whoop-dee-do's" at a fast pace. The coilovers really helped with that (the faster you go the smoother the coilovers work).
But after a while, my coilovers settled in the back and they needed adjusting because I started bottoming out the last day when I hit those bumps. I don't think the installer did a great job or knew what he was doing on setting them prior.
Also the need for a GPS is a must, there are a lot of roads and trails everywhere, you need to know exactly where you're going and which road to take.

Chase lights- I wish I had those! EXO should make this a requirement. It can get dangerous real quick!

Cool, what kind do you have? I don't really know much about suspension stuff.

So getting a true external GPS is worth it?

Thanks man.
