I might get the Base, but I might get the Black Diamond. Both have steel wheels (that I will paint white) and both have the vintage-style grill. I would argue that either the Base or the Black Diamond deserves the script Bronco. Especially if you get a white roof, white grill, white fender flares, and white steel wheels.?
I just don't want to see the script Bronco on anything with Alloy wheels or either of two modern grills.?

I agree, but strictly my opinion, going back to 66, the base Bronco has always been on its way to "being more".
I am not a fan of the uncut, they were born to be cut, lifted and fitted with somewhat bigger tires ..... so I suppose a factory "Squatch" is a natural progression.

Ditch the 10 speed auto and give it three on the tree...?

Everywhere else in the car world its a douche move to "up badge" i.e. like putting GT/Cobra emblems on a V6 base Mustang.
I feel like it would be just a bad to put the base trim badge on an upper echelon trim level. Dont get me wrong, I REALLY want the OG script. But the base trim doesnt get much as their own, so I'm happy the script logo has been bestowed. I think ot represents the "bare bones" attitude of the first gen.

Since Base doesn't officially have a trim badge why is it an issue if someone with a non-base wants to put the Bronco script on their Bronco?

The 4.6 in my take home Crown Vic did not have a problem getting and maintaining 131 MPH with a 4 speed automatic where the computer shut it down due to tire ratings. Great engine. Wish I could get it in my Bronco. Did not need it often, but better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
