I am handing problems deciding on the two. I would like to have the mud and ruts mode but does a few extra modes justify the bigger price tag and no Sas? Help please!

I'm in the same boat, but leaning more toward the BD. I want the standard armor, rubberized flooring, aux switches, and leather steering/shifter. I also would like to add the mid-package.

Maybe not. But the washout interior... skid plates..... steel bumpers.......mid package electronics is all probably more useful day to day. Plus the mileage benefit of the non SAS BD.
If only I could get Mid package with 7MT . . .

Are you doing extreme rock crawling? SAS

Do you like the look? SAS or add a lift/level and larger tires later

Daily driver, off road, etc? NON

Reality is front locker, lift, and 35s (gearing won't really matter for this convo). Both are capable offroad. Personally I wouldn't SAS BD I would move to BL too. Nothing wrong with adding SAS to BD but there's a strong value in a non-SAS BL.

Same boat. The two items pushing me to the BD are lack of a tow hitch on the Base and lack of a rear seat 110V option. If I could get both of those on a Base, I'd be all over it.

Bd non sas gets you 17” steel wheels, so i think you know what to do. Plus the vinyl + washout floors

I'm very much in the same place. I am going with Base Sas 2.7 and adding armor, hitch, etc later. For me, I like not having to worry in the future about upgrading axels or adding lockers, but I can add some of the other stuff myself. My biggest miss is the wash out floor and MGV, I would love to have that, but not at the expense of the running gear.

Personally, if it was only between the Base SAS and BD non-sas, I would go Base SAS 2 door 2.7.

It wouldn't be much work to get the rubber floor (or coat the floor with bedliner material) after ripping out the carpets, then put neoprene covers on the cloth seats. Done.

I went BD. It’s easier to add the tires, wheels and suspension down the road vs the interior upgrades and armor. The front locker and taller gear would be nice, but for a DD that’s a weekend warrior like I’ll be, I’m still farther ahead than any Jeep I’ve ever wheeled and done more than plenty with it. For around 2k, you can add lift, tires and new wheels if the steelies don’t suit you.

To me it’s just paying $7000 on a base for bragging rights.

BD non Sas with a levelling kit and decent 33s.

I was going between BD non sas and Base SAS. For the price point for BD non sas with mid, I would go to the Badlands. If you want to save a few thousand and to have a great looking off road vehicle with the lift, upgraded suspension, tires, etc (all under factory warranty), go with Base with SAS.
